The Endowment Fund is seeking individuals to join its Bold 100 Project ranks.
The Endowment Fund currently has approximately $400,000, which generates an annual income of about $10,000 per annum, which is provided to the elements of the Regimental Family to aid in their work for the good and welfare of the Regimental Family and its members. While significant, this sum represents approximately 40% of actual Regimental Family funding needs, resulting in several ad hoc and often competing fundraising efforts throughout the year. The Endowment Fund Committee aims to bring the Endowment Fund’s principal to $1,000,000 by 2030. This could generate an income of between $20,000 - $40,000 per year and will consequently fund most Regimental Family activities, thus making constant fundraising initiatives unnecessary. Importantly, as this income is from earned interest and dividends on the principal, which is never touched, this annual income will continue perpetually.
To help us achieve our $1,000,000 goal, we are seeking one hundred (100) bold individuals who will commit to donating just $50 per month for five years. This will generate in excess of $300,000 by 2030 and greatly assist in achieving our goal.
Individuals joining the Bold 100 will receive formal recognition, a certificate and member-identifying pin, a free subscription to the CanScot Newsletter, Regimental Association membership, and a standing invitation to all donor recognition events.
This program has been created in response to comments by many Regimental Family members who have been considering end-of-life legacy gifts to the Regiment through the Endowment Fund but wish to have a more immediate and direct impact.
Joining the Bold 100 is as simple as going online to https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/the-c-s-r-trustees, making your donation, and specifying “CSR Bold 100” in the comments box.
The treasurer of the Endowment Fund will automatically be advised of your donation and enrollment to The Bold 100.
As the Endowment Fund holds charitable status, all donors will automatically receive annual tax receipts that can be useful with personal or estate tax exemptions.
Finally, we recognize that personal circumstances can change, so donors can leave the programme anytime if circumstances require it.
