The Book of Memory honours and records the service of deceased former members of The Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary’s) and those Regiments it perpetuates. Individuals can nominate identified deceased members or pre-nominate living members for inclusion on their demise. Funds raised through the Book of Memory are deposited in an Endowment Fund, and only the interest generated is used to support all constituent parts of the Regimental Family. Since 2023, an Annex to the Book of Memory similarly honours and remembers deceased non-serving members of the Regimental Family.
For those who wish to support the Regimental Family by sponsoring a soldier into the Book of Memory but have no particular soldier to name can select and sponsor a soldier from our Canadian Scottish Remembers list or have the Endowment Fund Committee do so on their behalf.
Sponsors will receive a Record of Entry Certificate with the sponsored soldier’s details, particulars of service, and where they are buried and memorialized. A suggested minimum donation of $50.00 will secure sponsorship. Some sponsors may wish to make their donation perpetual annually, for example, on the anniversary of the soldier’s death, Remembrance Day, or through a monthly allocation. This can be accomplished through Canadahelps.org. As the Endowment Fund holds charitable status, all donors will automatically receive annual tax receipts that can be useful with personal or estate tax exemptions.
